OK, so I must admit the neighborhood Halloween decorations threw me for the first week or two. But I sought some advise from my friends on facebook and was able to soothe my initial outrage. Us Chihuahuas can be a little defensive about our territory — it just takes a lot of work to establish the pecking order when you are shorter than the chickens. But I think I’ve straightened out who is in charge now — My increased patrolling and fierce hrmphing at the offending plastic ghouls have returned the barrio to a manageable comfort level.
You could say I’m harsh, cranky even. But it was only a few years ago that I found myself in a real “Nightmare on thus dogwood street!” I was a young puppy girl then. It was my second Halloween, but I had been too young the first year to appreciate the terror. But you can see for yourselves. Check out my feature film and beware!!!!!!!!!!!

So the Huff Post had the audacity to include this noble breed in an “Adorable Or Ugly? Controversial Pets And Wild Animals” photo gallery a few days ago. Hrmph! How dare they?!?!?!?! There need be no pondering on this issue!
Oh, I take offense! And on sooooooo many levels:
2. “Faithful, adorable companion” OR “the quivering sidekick“?!?!?!?! I do not “quiver.” I have a unique method of maintaining body temperature. Self sufficient and very green, if you ask me!
3. And a mere “sidekick”?!?!?!?! I AM The Princess, I’ll have you know!
4. Ahhhh … “sidekick of obnoxious blonds everywhere”?!?!?!?! Whatcha talking about? Don’t you mess with my Mama!! Those artfully conceived highlights or hers are haute coifure, Amigo!
Chicos, the way I see it, this means war!!!!! Obviously they tried to get away with this outrage while Mom was out of town and I could not post my vehement objections. But let it be known to all those responsible that they have now incurred the wrath of one ticked-off Chihuahua Princess! Beware, I have muchos cousins, Amigos. Your ankles are now fair game! Terror alert, POSTED!

I just had to take a moment share this amazing Chihuahua story from Jacksonville.com. It brought a tear to my eyes, chicos. Love it IS a miraculous thing. Take a lonely man. And a lonely rescued animal. Add in the quirks of fate that brought them together and BAM, it is Kismet, and better yet, it is true love!
Read this story and hug your loved ones a little tighter. And remember, it is NEVER too late for love. Rescued animals ROCK!!!
